Sound Engineer Simulator
A downloadable game for Windows
This game aims to teach people about sound engineering. Learn the basics of what a soundboard looks like and does, and apply it. With this game, you will learn transferrable skills to be a sound engineer, a DJ, a music producer, and potentially more.
Currently, there is only a tutorial level and the functionality is limited.
Known issues:
*Interacting with the chest sometimes doesn't work
*When closing the help panels in free-play mode, it duplicates the original tutorial mode
*The knobs do not work exactly as a soundboard
*The values the knobs adjust are not entirely accurate or on a correct scale
*Panning only goes between centered and the right
*The mouse doesn't show up on the first popup, requiring users to press the enter button on a Numpad
Future Plans:
*Fix the above issues
*Make more levels with more audio tracks
*Make a way to change the effects
*Add a visualiser of the sound level
*Label each audio track
*Make a world to move around in based on a hall
*Add the need to turn on equipment and roll cables and other aspects of being a sound engineer
*Add levels of progression
*Add another sound-board based on a digital board with more features akin to a digital sound-board
*Replace the world and character assets with assets made by myself
This project was my final project for my degree. I plan on continuing to update this project. It will always be free and have no monetisation. The game does include copyrighted music and may continue to in the future. I will look into getting royalty-free music, but the issue is I need free multi-track recordings.
